New York cosmetic dentist, Dr. Alfonso, is a member of the AO, ADA, ACP, AAP and AAFP. He has been established for 20 years. Graduated in 1993 from New York University, School of Dentistry and went to Columbia University for his Pros. Graduated in 1999.

Practicing as a New York dentist for over 20 years, Dr. Alfonso has developed a close relationship with the Hispanic community and is widely recognized as a leading specialist in his field. Working hard to ensuring his patients only receive the best treatment possible, he has performed thousands of successful dental implants, helping his patients look better, speak and eat with more confidence, in the process achieving recognition as a leading implant expert. Today he lectures nationally on subjects involving complex cases in the fields of esthetics, implants, fixed prosthodontics and is involved in clinical research. Along with a multidisciplinary and multicultural staff working with the latest technology in a comfortable environment patients of all ages gain access to the highest quality of treatment available.

Bonding (Cosmetic)
Cosmetic bonding is a dental technique or solution for:

Repairing and fixing chipped or cracked teeth

Hiding discoloration on the tooth’s surface

Crowns
A crown is a permanent covering that fits over an original tooth that is decayed, damaged or cracked. Crowns are generally made of porcelain, gold and other metals. Porcelain crowns typically have the most natural appearance although they tend to be less durable than the other materials
Bridges – Fixed and Permanent
A bridge is a dental device that is used to fill a space where a tooth has been removed.
Dental Implants
If you are missing one or more teeth, you’ll want replacements that are as natural-looking as possible. If dentures don’t work for you, you may want to consider dental implants. Unlike dentures, which can be removed, implants are permanently anchored into the jaw itself.

Gum Disease (Periodontic) - Periodontitis, or Pyorrhea, is a disease involving inflammation of the gums (gingiva), often persisting unnoticed for years or decades in a patient, that results in loss of bone around teeth.

Root Canal / Endodontic Treatment - During root canal, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed, and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and shaped. The remaining space is filled and sealed.

Carlos Alfonso, DDS, MS, FACP, FAID, DABO/ID, DICOI/ID

New York dentist, Dr Carlos Alfonso, is a board certified Prosthodontist who began his career in dentistry by obtaining his first Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) in the Dominican Republic. After graduation, he went on to attend New York University College of Dentistry, where he obtained his second DDS degree. He continued his training and completed his general practice residency at Harlem Hospital, where he was asked to stay on as chief resident. Dr. Alfonso later on attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he pursued a specialty certificate in Prosthodontics and became board certified.

During his years at Columbia University, Dr. Alfonso taught dental students and oversaw the literature review in fixed prosthodontics. Dr. Alfonso also runs his own implant study club, where he assists dentists continuing to further their education with seminars in cosmetic dentistry, implants and oral surgery.

Dr Alfonso is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics,a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists as well as the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. He is also a Former Assistant Professor, Division of Prosthodontics, Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Alfonso became a fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
